Job Summary
As a vital member of The Classical Academy (TCA) leadership team, the HR Director will play an essential role in shaping our organizational culture, driving strategic HR initiatives, and providing expert guidance in all aspects of human resources management. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of HR best practices, compliance, and organizational development within an educational context. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can prioritize the needs of our community, including students, educators, and administrative staff. The HR Director will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with our institution's mission and goals, fostering an inclusive workplace, and enhancing employee engagement. The role includes overseeing talent acquisition, professional development, performance management, and employee relations, ensuring that we attract and retain top talent. Additionally, the HR Director will work closely with senior leadership to support organizational change initiatives and promote continuous improvement throughout the HR function. Responsibilities
• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Oversee talent acquisition processes, ensuring effective recruitment and retention of staff.
• Lead employee programs, policies, practices, and training initiatives to facilitate staff development, including an overview of TCA’s HR policies, practices, and programs (employee handbook, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, etc)
• Manage performance appraisal processes and support employee growth through feedback and coaching of managers and employees alike.
• Manage the HR policies and practices for TCA, ensuring all employees receive documentation promptly.
• Oversee the benefits and perquisite programs for all employees and manage contract and vendor relationships effectively. Develop annual programs in line with budget expectations and manage the annual enrollment processes efficiently and effectively.
• Oversee the compensation programs and practices, including market pay, annual merit increases, promotions, transfers, incentive pay, bonus plans, and any other compensation-related practices for all employees, in line with annual budget expectations.
• Accountable for all systems, technology, and practices that underpin new employee hiring, staffing, compensation, and benefits programs, including managing the payroll outsourcing contracts.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining a fair and equitable workplace.
• Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes employee engagement and retention.
• Advise and support senior leadership on HR-related matters, including organizational design and employee relations issues.
• Lead change management initiatives and efforts, as they relate to organizational changes, restructuring, growth initiatives, etc.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience as an HR Director or in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in the non-profit or educational sectors.
• Advanced HR certifications preferred (SPHR, SHRM-SCP).
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and current employment legislation.
• Strategic abilities to partner with leadership with a high proficiency in HR foundational policies and practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Experience training small and large groups on HR programs and best practices.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing HR strategies that support organizational goals.
• Ability to analyze data and metrics to drive decision-making and improve HR processes.
• Proficient in ADP, HRIS, and other HR software applications.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills using the English language. Demonstrates the ability to: read, analyze, and interpret documents; respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints; communicate effectively at multiple levels within the organization; manage communications professionally and with respect; know when to escalate issues to upper management; communicate to various contractors and suppliers in a simple and timely manner.

Location of position: The Classical Academy, 8000 Bee Ridge Rd. Sarasota, FL 34241. This is a full-time, on-site, in-person position that also offers seasonal flexibility based on the school schedule.
Compensation and Benefits: $75,000 - $100,000. The Classical Academy offers competitive health and other benefits. A relocation advance may be provided, as appropriate. Tuition Discount, if applicable. Flexible work schedule based on school schedules.
