Training and Development Specialist I

Position Overview
The Training & Development Specialist I is responsible for delivering training materials and facilitate courses that support operational excellence and continuous improvement across the business. This role interacts with Talent, Training & Development, Business Optimization, and Field Leadership teams to research, write, and deliver training publications and related documents. As part of the Talent team, the Training & Development Specialist I builds relationships with field leaders and cross-functional work teams, with a focus on strong communication, content delivery, drafting comprehensive documents, and packaging information curtailed to the specific audience. Essential Responsibilities
- Facilitates and delivers group and individual instruction and training, covering a range of technical, operational, and/or leadership areas.
- Acts as a mentor and leader in the virtual classroom and in-person classroom alike, by fostering learning engagement and enthusiasm with a positive attitude.
- Creates Curriculums within the Training Team as the subject Matter expert (SME) that drives professional development and training initiatives
- Engages members of the team as a thought partner to advance work of the Training team in a collaborative way with attention to robust feedback, critical thinking and innovative problem solving
- Determine gaps in training content and materials through data analysis and field and support team engagement that generate higher productivity
- Develops and delivers field training, including, but not limited to, training documents, such as guides, computer training, instructional videos, etc.
- Reviews, revises, and recommends changes in instructional objectives and methods, and edits material for proper use of standardized terminology, style, direction, content, grammar, punctuation, and clarity
- Seeks to improve skills and stay on top of latest trends in Training, Development and leadership
- Exceptional partnership and execution skills with attention to detail and follow through
- Coordinates with the key stakeholders and operational training representatives to ensure delivery and completeness of training programs
- Travels to field offices and events as needed to acquire knowledge, understand current training practices, and deliver ongoing skills and leadership training
- Work independently with minimal supervision, while addressing challenges or concerns with a solution oriented approach
Required Qualifications & Skills
- A high school education or GED
- A minimum of (1) year of experience in managing, designing, developing, coordinating and conducting training programs, including e-learning creation.
- Experience delivering Virtual Training or working with remote teams
- Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and LMS Platforms, including Articulate: Rise 360 & Storyline, to produce and evaluate high training materials and presentations
- Experience in a training role, or a mix of training and coaching/mentoring experience, including writing and implementing training materials.
- High degree of professional confidence, strong interpersonal skills and credibility with effective presence.
- Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills and a passion for communicating to all levels
- Ability to quickly absorb large amounts of information and reduce to teachable segments
- Demonstrated experience organizing and managing multiple projects with on time completion
Working Conditions
Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently. Regular travel via plane and automobile may be required, including overnight stays (up to 50% of the time).
