Human Resource Generalist Primary Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, from sourcing through hiring, ensuring a positive candidate experience
- Facilitate weekly hiring meetings with managers to support timely, quality hiring decisions
- Lead and coordinate new hire onboarding using a consistent, well-documented process
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers regarding policies, procedures, and best practices
- Handle employee relations matters, including complaints, investigations, corrective action, and terminations, in a fair and consistent manner
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives through effective HR programs and processes
Performance & Culture Support
- Administer and support the performance management and review process
- Partner with leadership and managers to reinforce a positive, respectful, and compliant workplace culture
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination
- Administer employee compensation and benefits programs in coordination with leadership and external vendors
- Manage benefits administration, including insurance and retirement programs (e.g., medical, supplemental, HSA, 401(k))
- Coordinate bi-weekly payroll processing and benefits reconciliation in partnership with Accounting
Compliance & HR Operations
- Ensure HR practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records using HR systems and tools
- Support compliance tracking for training, safety, and regulatory requirements in partnership with Operations
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and engagement to support decision-making
- Stay current on HR best practices and recommend process improvements as appropriate
Human Resource Generalist Specialist Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Experience handling employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective action, and terminations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience with HRIS platforms preferred (e.g., Rippling, iSolve, Paycom)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Demonstrated adaptability and ability to work effectively with a diverse employee population
