Aimbridge Corporate - Regional Human Resources Director
The Regional HR Director acts as a strategic partner to operations, the Regional HRD aligns business objectives with employees and management in designated markets. Serves as a consultant to Operations on HR related issues. Acts as an associate champion, change agent and culture ambassador. Executes organizational initiatives in alignment with HR goals and business objectives. Assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and employee issues. Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry; or a 4- year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience.
- Previous supervisory responsibility required.
- College course work in related field helpful
- Familiarity with and knowledge of employment laws are helpful.
- Must be proficient in Windows Operating Systems
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able. to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must routinely meet deadlines.
- Must be able to multi task.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider, adjust, or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need ..
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
- Experience with collective bargaining agreements and processes for labor relations is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with Operations providing HR guidance as appropriate
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Serves as a policy expert to assist Operations management in adherence of company policies, processes and practices.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issue: Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
- Coordinates onboarding activities for new managers, as well as facilitation, consultation and guidance.
- Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR function to develop solutions, programs and policy.
- Partners closely with Operations to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and employee retention.
- Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, performance management, and succession planning.
- Participates in evaluation and monitoring of success of HR program's and follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
- Actively participates in HR meetings to ensure deployment and process consistency in the field.
- Provides onboarding and ongoing support to HRD's and GM's.
- Provides training and guidance to the on-property HR contact on their responsibilities and duties.
- Develops processes to help properties maintain a high level of HR effectiveness in the areas of policies and procedures, audit controls and employee relations.
- Promotes learning and self-sufficiency by ensuring HRD's and GM's can sustain HR best practices.
- Provides policy interpretation and ensure accurate and consistent application of all company policies and procedures and related local, state and federal laws.
- Stays informed of local legislative/compliance changes and work with Corporate HR to implement solutions as needed.
- Acts as trusted advisor and sought after resource for leadership and staff.
- Coaches management team on employee relations, associate engagement and retention, and compliance issues. Escalate issues as appropriate.
- Supports talent management efforts including talent development, succession planning, associate engagement, coaching and team building.
- Collaborates with Corporate HR and fellow RHRD's on projects, challenges, and needs.
- Contributes positively to an HR culture of professionalism and distinction.
- Engages in networking and professional development opportunities.
- Formulates partnerships across HR and Operations to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives and values of the organization.
- Participates in Hotel Acquisition activities as directed by the company. It is anticipated that no more than 40% of their time will be devoted to time away.
