Position OverviewThe HR/Bookkeeping Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities while supporting core human resources functions. This dual-role position ensures accurate financial recordkeeping, payroll support, compliance with employment regulations, and well-organized HR administration.
Key ResponsibilitiesBookkeeping & Financial AdministrationMaintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable recordsPrepare monthly financial reports and perform account reconciliationsAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and expense trackingProcess invoices, payments, and employee expense reimbursementsSupport external audit preparation as neededPayroll SupportAssist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulationsTrack employee hours, benefits, and payroll deductionsSupport year-end reporting and required filingsHuman Resources AdministrationCoordinate recruitment logistics, onboarding, and employee documentationMaintain accurate and confidential HR recordsSupport compliance with labor laws and internal policiesAssist with performance management processes and employee engagement initiativesCoordinate benefits administration, training programs, and policy updatesCompliance & ReportingEnsure adherence to financial and employment regulationsPrepare reports for leadership as requestedMaintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information
QualificationsEducationBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
Experience5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or human resources administration
SkillsStrong understanding of bookkeeping principles and HR practicesExperience with accounting software and HRIS systems; familiarity with platforms such as Sage or Paycor is a plusAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent organizational and multitasking abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills
