You will succeed in this role if you have:
A minimum of five years of progressive HR leadership experience in a resort or hospitality setting.Strong working knowledge and application of HR principles, practices and employment laws.Exceptional listening, written, and verbal communication skills and interpersonal abilities.Expertise in successfully managing conflict and handling sensitive, confidential information with discretion.Experience acting as a trusted advisor to business owners, executive leadership and management.Unparalleled flexibility; stellar organizational skills, detail orientation and follow-through.Extensive experience developing and implementing and/or delivering employee policies, procedures, programs and initiatives, training content, and leadership presentations. Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to guide, mentor, coach, train and develop employees and operational managers.Computer proficiency in MS Office products and HR technology systems; ADP experience strongly preferred.Familiarity with budget development and management, strong business acumen, analytical and strategic planning skills; demonstrated ability to influence and drive change within a company.Demonstrated ability to work well as a leader and a member of a team; able to communicate effectively with all position levels within an organization.Proven ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven business environment and resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.Professional appearance and pleasant demeanor.Experience creating and maintaining a workplace culture that emphasizes brand standards.Proven ability to make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable and justifiable. A bachelor’s degree, ideally in business administration, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent applicable experience.Ability to work a varied schedule as business needs dictate, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended hours.Spanish language proficiency a plus.What you’ll do…
Talent Acquisition & Management: Oversee sourcing, hiring and retention strategies.Employee Relations: Direct all aspects of performance management on property, addressing disputes and challenges and facilitating open dialogue. Ensure company policies are applied fairly and consistently. Drive employee engagement and well-being initiatives. Provide HR guidance to resort leaders on a regular basis.Culture: Partner with resort leadership to foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture and alignment with the Tetherow brand. Develop and implement initiatives which drive and support a healthy culture, employee appreciation and retention.Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and recommended best practices. Develop, implement, review and modify organizational policies and procedures to maintain compliance. Ensure the efficient administration of employee benefits, leave of absences, workers’ compensation, occupational health and safety, unemployment insurance and other regulatory requirements.Benefits & Compensation: Manage employee benefit and compensation strategies to ensure market competitiveness and retention. Strategic Planning: Partners with ownership and senior leadership to align HR strategies with business goals and financial objectives.Training & Development: Coordinate, and/or create and facilitate leadership training to develop talent, reinforce desired behaviors and mitigate risk. Support the development and implementation of departmental training programs to offer employee learning and growth, improve service quality, and maximize productivity.Manage and provide guidance and growth opportunities to the resort talent manager.Develop and successfully manage the departmental budget.Partner with resort leadership to assure excellence in all aspects of the Tetherow experience, promote the Tetherow brand and to advance the goals and objectives of the resort.Maintain consistent communication with ownership and resort leadership to apprise them of relevant information; participate in required executive and resort leadership meetings.Extra Perks!
