The Role
We are looking for the Head of People & Talent Operations to build and run the operational backbone of our People function as the company scales.
This role is responsible for leading recruiting operations, building HR processes, and ensuring that hiring, onboarding, and employee lifecycle operations run smoothly as the organization grows. You will work closely with the leadership team to support rapid hiring, manage core HR operations, and help create the systems and processes that support a growing team.
The role requires someone who is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment. You will be responsible for creating structure where needed, coordinating across teams, and ensuring candidates and employees have an excellent experience from the first interview through onboarding and beyond.
What You’ll Do:
People & HR Operations - Manage the operational infrastructure that supports the employee lifecycle:
Responsibilities include administering onboarding and off-boarding processes, preparing and managing employee documentation including offer letters, employment agreements, NDAs, Visa documentation, and other HR materials, and maintaining employee records, internal documentation and compliance with employment laws and internal policies, ensuring employee documentation, policies, and practices are up to date. You will support benefits administration and help manage HR systems such as Gusto, Thatch, Slack, and Google Workspace.
You will document and refine people processes as the company grows, helping ensure internal systems and workflows scale effectively with the organization. This role will serve as the operational point of contact for employee questions related to HR processes, benefits, and internal tools. You will build our a performance management process, and also support managers with employee relations matters including performance conversations, workplace concerns, and policy guidance, escalating issues to leadership when appropriate.
Talent & Recruiting Operations - Support a fast-moving recruiting process across technical and business roles:
You will manage recruiting coordination including scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate communications, and keeping hiring pipelines organized within our applicant tracking system, Workable. Responsibilities include posting job descriptions, tracking candidate progress, coordinating interview feedback, and helping maintain a strong candidate experience throughout the process. You will also track recruiting and people metrics including hiring pipeline progress, time-to-hire, and onboarding outcomes to help leadership make informed decisions.
For technical and engineering-heavy roles, you will coordinate with external recruiting agencies and ensure hiring processes run smoothly between candidates, recruiters, and internal hiring managers. You will also prepare offer letters, confirm compensation details, and manage offer communications with candidates.
People Systems & Process Development - As an early member of the People function, you will help build systems and processes that support a growing organization:
Responsibilities include documenting operational workflows, improving recruiting and onboarding processes, and identifying opportunities to streamline administrative tasks. You will help establish consistent internal procedures that support hiring, employee management, and collaboration across teams. You will also help establish and manage performance review cycles, feedback processes, goal tracking and compensation and bonus structure as the organization grows. This role will also work closely with leadership to ensure People operations remain organized and scalable as the company continues to grow.
Operations Support - In a startup environment, operational needs can span multiple areas. This role will help support day-to-day organizational needs that keep the team running smoothly:
Responsibilities may include coordinating equipment purchases for new hires, assisting with basic IT setup when needed, supporting travel logistics or reimbursements, and helping maintain organized internal documentation and systems. You will also support accounts payable and receivable coordination related to employee reimbursements, vendor payments, or operational expenses.
What We’re Looking For
We’re ideally looking for someone with 5–10 years of experience across people operations, HR operations, talent operations, or startup operations, with the judgment and execution skills to build processes, manage complexity, and support a growing organization in a fast-paced environment.
Ideal candidates are proactive problem-solvers who enjoy building systems, improving processes, and helping teams operate more efficiently. You should be comfortable handling confidential information and communicating clearly with both candidates and internal stakeholders.
Experience with tools such as Workable, Gusto, Slack, and Google Workspace is required. Experience working in a startup or technology environment is also valuable.
