Position Job Summary: The primary function of the Director of Human Resources is to provide oversight and facilitation of the human resources responsibilities and activities. Responsibilities will include managing the talent acquisition recruitment processes, employee relations, regulatory compliance, training and development, as well as benefits administration, payroll and human capital management system administration. Ability to manage a large, diverse workload and knows how to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Must possess a higher education degree in Human Resources Administration or related field. Job related experience may substitute for formal education on a year-for-year basis at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.
• Proven experience and skills serving as a Director of Human Resources for 5 years with overall responsibility for all aspects of human resources.
• Extensive knowledge of human resources policies and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of employment/labor laws.
• Comprehensive experience with HCM systems, Paylocity is strongly preferred.
• Outstanding knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for problem-solving and to facilitating the success of team members.
• Desire to promote and support inter-departmental and organization-wide teamwork and achievement.
• Must adhere to SafeSpace ethics, policies, procedures, and contractual standards.
• Must maintain and protect the confidentiality of the program participants and shelter locations within agency guidelines and state statutes.

Training Requirements: Required onboarding training will be conducted at the Admin. office or designated location during the hours of 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday regardless of shift schedule. Must successfully complete CORE Competency training provided by the agency within 90 days of employment and participate in ongoing mandatory education and skills training on relevant topics as required by statutory funding, certification of the agency or personnel, or as identified to improve employee performance. Must maintain annual training requirements outlined in the employee manual.

• Manages and facilitates full cycle talent acquisition process, including recruitment, screening, interviewing, and hiring of qualified candidates for exempt level positions (managerial, and professional roles) and non-exempt positions.
• Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings in an effort to develop and update appropriate position descriptions
• Develop, manage and facilitate new employee on-boarding protocols, to ensure that newly hired staff have appropriate orientation.
• Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
• Manage and utilize human capital management system to facilitate streamlined processes and efficiencies related to recruitment, onboarding, payroll, time management, learning and development, as well as performance management.
• Manage employee relations effort by providing support to employees in HR-related topics; resolve any issues that may arise promptly and create an environment where staff are comfortable discussing concerns.
• Manages employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations to ensure consistency and alignment with all applicable laws.
• Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues promptly in conjunction with senior management.
• Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace, encouraging adherence to ethical communication and professionalism in the workplace.
• Manage and facilitate performance management process including creating tools to support consistent processes.
• Manage and facilitate quarterly and annual employee performance reviews.
• Maintain employee files and records, ensuring they comply with funding agencies' guidelines.
• Enhance job satisfaction by exploring and implementing new perks and benefits, as funding allows; organize team building activities; and overall encourage a cohesive team environment.
• In conjunction with senior management, develop, maintain and disseminate policies and procedures including handbook, as well as providing orientation and training on all policies and procedures.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Develop, implement and oversee SOPs for HR functions, in consultation with the CEO.
• Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent. Administers compensation and benefit plans.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
• Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
• Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization.
• Nurture a positive working environment.
