PAYROLL CLERK

POSITION PURPOSE
-
Assists with the day-to-day functions of the Payroll Department; auditing timecards, preparation of employee changes; prepare and transmit the payroll to our service bureau; and verify the payroll information when it returns. Miscellaneous payroll duties include: journal entries, check requests, and keep payroll records as required by law and hospital policy. Assist in providing the Human Resources Department with all required payroll information.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

High School or Equivalent (GED)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Requires training normally gained in a two (2) year associates degree in accounting or equivalent job experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
-
Previous experience in payroll and timekeeping is preferred.

Previous experience utilizing UKG is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of computers is preferred.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Assists with the day-to-day functions of Payroll including, but not limited to, auditing timecards, updating employee records for any approved changes, preparing and transmitting the payroll to our service bureau, verify the payroll information when it returns for accuracy, and running and distributing various labor reports.

Additional payroll duties may include maintaining payroll records as required by law and hospital policy, responding to employee’s inquiries regarding their paychecks, accurate processing of wage garnishments, accurate processing of employee reimbursements and deductions, payroll tax reconciliation and accurate and timely completion of all year-end payroll related responsibilities including the processing of W2s.
