The Senior Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing multi-state payroll for Dana-Farber. This position accesses all wage, benefit and payroll related information and resolves employee pay inquiries and pay issues. The Senior Coordinator is the subject matter expert on DFCI pay policies to ensure accurate processing of employee payments, assists with routine testing of Payroll functions for ERP system updates, and works with Senior Payroll Tax Analyst to ensure appropriate tax withholdings. Contact DFCI departments and follow up with employee and/or managers on time reporting issues in accordance with Human Resource Pay Policies. Update ERP system with Employee General deduction data relating to MBTA Pass, parking, and all payroll related transportation benefits. Payroll contact for both DFCI employee and Mass Bay Transit Authority for ordering, replacing, and setting up employee MBTA Transit passes through the MBTA website. Process special requests, and off cycle checks to staff as needed. Review and approve employee data requests for appropriate state tax record setup. Investigate inquiries involving irregularities in employee pay and resolve in a timely and satisfactory manner. Troubleshoot problems, resolve errors and escalate issues to management as needed. Manage special projects/ad-hoc requests as needed. Resolve employee payment issues including Abandoned Property. Present Payroll information at new employee orientation. Assist employees with use of ERP system specific for payroll. Assist with gathering payroll documentation in response to requests for internal and external audits. Provides employee wage statement for calculation of worker’s compensation and income verifications. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems and procedures. Assists Senior Payroll Tax Analyst with data validation at year-end. MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred. 3 years of payroll experience required. Multi-state payroll experience required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) skills. Ability to work with multi-state payrolls. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Ability to self-starter and work independently, as well as in a team setting.
