Human Resources (HR) Coordinator

The HR Coordination will manage essential HR functions that impact the team's experience at every stage of their employment with Variety and will be integral in maintaining a high performing and mission driven team.

Variety's HR Coordinator will:
- Manage day to day human resources functions including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, payroll, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Payroll – manage all payroll functions for permanent (~20) and seasonal employees (~100+) including:
- Submitting payroll information bi-weekly.
- Reviewing reports.
- Ensuring all payroll information is accurate and up to date.
- Benefits Administration – administer all employee benefit programs (health insurance, retirement plans and other organization sponsored programs) including:
- Assisting employees with enrollment and questions.
- Ensuring accurate processing with payroll and benefit providers and compliance with related laws and regulations.
- Recruiting and Onboarding –
- Coordinate the recruitment process from job postings to applicant screening, interviews and offers with the hiring manager.
- Mange the onboarding process to ensure new employees have a positive introduction to Variety including preparing documentation and coordinating orientation and administrative logistics.
- Compliance & Policies –
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with federal, state and local labor laws.
- Maintain and update human resources policies and protocols and employee handbook to ensure compliance.
- Prepare HR related documents.
- Manage all payroll and HRM systems.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of HR processes and policies to align with best practices and support the organization's vision and culture.
- Performance and Professional Development –
- Assist with performance review processes and goal setting.
- Coordinate all employee satisfaction and recognition programs to promote engaged and committed employees.
- identify training needs and coordinate professional development opportunities.
- Support managers in developing individualized career development plans.
- Employee Relations – serve as a resource to employees and managers, addressing questions and providing guidance and support on HR policies and matters.
A successful HR Coordinator will have/be:
- A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent, ideally in human resources or a related field. SHRM or other equivalent certificates are a plus!
- Minimum of one to three years of experience in human resources, payroll, benefit administration or related functions.
- Knowledge of HR practices and payroll and employment law.
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to interact and build relationships with a broad range of individuals. Strong coaching, consulting and facilitation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- A solution focused problem solver who is flexible and able to respond quickly and appropriately in changing situations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Ideally, experience management HRM systems.
- A passion for the mission of Variety and how they can contribute to its success.
The HR Coordinator role is full time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday role and will work primarily at Variety's office location in Westport Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri.
