Position Overview
The Foster Parent Recruiter/Trainer plays a key role in advancing the mission of KidsPeace by recruiting, training, and supporting qualified foster families within the New York FCCP program. This position is responsible for facilitating foster parent training, screening and assessing applicant families, ensuring compliance with state and organizational standards, and promoting the KidsPeace foster care program within local communities. Through strong engagement, professional communication, and comprehensive assessment skills, the Foster Parent Recruiter/Trainer helps ensure children in foster care are placed in safe, nurturing, and well-prepared homes.

Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate required pre‑service and ongoing training for foster parent applicants and approved foster parents
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and quality of foster parent files prior to final approval
- Screen and assess foster parent applicants and all household members to determine compliance with New York State and KidsPeace requirements
- Conduct comprehensive home and family assessments to support foster parent approval decisions
- Promote the visibility of the KidsPeace FCCP program within local communities through outreach, public speaking engagements, and marketing efforts
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Collaborate with program staff to support foster parents throughout the recruitment, approval, and training process
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the human service field or 3 years of experience
- Valid Driver’s License
