About the role:
The Technical Training & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving technical training programs that support onboarding and development across all Divcon technical roles, across field operations and engineering.
This role is a key part of the onboarding experience for technical employees, ensuring new hires are equipped with the foundational knowledge, hands-on skills, and operational readiness required for successful field deployment and project execution. Beyond onboarding, this position drives the ongoing evolution of Divcon’s technical training programs, aligning curriculum with industry standards, emerging technologies, and business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Delivery & Program Execution
• Deliver instructor-led and hands-on training in classroom, lab, and simulated field environments.
• Facilitate onboarding cohorts and ensure readiness for field deployment through practical assessments.
• Prepare employees for real-world project execution including installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Support onboarding for both entry-level and experienced hires.
• Deliver cross-functional training across BAS/BMS, PLC systems, SCADA, HVAC, and networking protocols.
• Train employees on installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system turnover practices.
• Ensure alignment with real-world project workflows and field execution standards.

Qualifications:
· 5+ years of hands-on experience in building automation, industrial controls, or field engineering roles.
· Hands-on experience with installation, commissioning, or troubleshooting systems.
· Proven experience mentoring, training, or leading junior technicians in the field
· Strong working knowledge of:
o HVAC systems and building automation
o Control system installation, wiring, and commissioning processes
o Reading and interpreting schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
· Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot systems and perform field-level diagnostics
· Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to entry-level learners
· Experience developing training materials or programs preferred.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout job sites for extended periods
· Ability to climb ladders, stairs and lifts as required
· Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or confined spaces
· Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials up to 50 pounds
· Manual dexterity to handle tools, wiring, and small components
· Ability to work at heights and in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
· Visual keenness to read schematics, labels, and digital displays
· Ability to hear and respond to alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions
· Capability to safely operate hand and power tools
