The Opportunity You will take full ownership of end-to-end payroll processing in a high-stakes, multi-state construction environment. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in prevailing wage and union reporting to ensure absolute compliance and accuracy. You will serve as a critical link between operations and accounting, protecting our employees' livelihoods and the companys financial integrity.
How You Will Make an Impact
Execute weekly multi-state payroll for hourly and salaried employees across Nevada, California, and Texas.
Conduct rigorous pre-processing audits to validate wage rates, pay codes, and prevailing wage classifications.
Manage complex construction compliance requirements, including certified payroll reporting and union fringe benefit remittances.
Reconcile labor data between BuildOps and QuickBooks to ensure precise job costing and burden allocation.
Validate all manual checks, retroactive adjustments, and off-cycle payments to eliminate duplicate or unsupported transactions.
Partner with HR to coordinate payroll-impacting status changes, benefit deductions, and garnishment updates.
Support internal and external audits for workers compensation, insurance, and bonding by providing organized, defensible records.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of professional payroll experience, specifically within the construction industry.
Mastery of prevailing wage, certified payroll reporting, and union payroll administration.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups for data reconciliation.
Proven experience managing multi-state payroll tax treatment and wage and hour compliance.
Strong background in labor allocation and reconciling payroll data across multiple operational systems.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
Experience in fire-life safety or specialized trade contracting environments.
