Job Summary
The Vice President of Human Resources (VP, HR) is a strategic business leader responsible for aligning people strategies with Hollywood Feed’s mission to provide exceptional service, premium products, and a best-in-class customer experience. This role will drive organizational effectiveness across a growing retail footprint, distribution network, and corporate functions.
The VP, HR will lead all aspects of human capital management, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, total rewards, compliance, and culture. As a key member of the executive team, this leader will champion a high-performance, values-driven culture while ensuring scalable HR practices that support continued expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team on all people-related matters.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Lead workforce planning to support retail expansion, distribution operations, and corporate functions.
- Drive organizational design and change management initiatives.
Talent & Culture
- Champion Hollywood Feed’s culture, values, and customer-first philosophy.
- Design and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent across retail and corporate teams.
- Lead succession planning and leadership development programs.
- Enhance employee engagement and strengthen the employer brand.
Retail & Field HR Excellence
- Partner closely with retail leadership to support store performance through people initiatives.
- Develop scalable HR support models for multi-location operations.
- Build leadership capability across all levels of the organization. Promote continuous learning and career growth opportunities.
- Implement performance management systems tied to business outcomes (e.g., pay-for-performance programs).
Total Rewards & Performance
- Design competitive compensation and benefits programs aligned with business strategy.
- Lead performance management frameworks that drive accountability and results.
- Oversee incentive and bonus programs for eligible participants.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee HR systems, policies, and procedures for efficiency and scalability.
- Manage employee relations, risk mitigation, and workplace investigations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to travel as required (approximately 15–25%).
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance across multiple locations.
- Experience supporting employee relations, performance management, and HR processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Able to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Physically able to perform the job functions for 8–10-hour workdays.
- Employees may be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, along with bending, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and other physical movements essential to daily tasks.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including executive-level roles.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in multi-unit retail, distribution, or service-based industries
- Proven track record of scaling HR functions in a high-growth environment.
