About the role:
The Senior Manager of Payroll & Sales Compensation owns the entire payroll and commission function for 150+ employees across multiple pay structures (salary, hourly, piece-rate, commission, override, bonus) for Veridian Service Partners, a private equity backed residential services platform. Operating across Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio, this leader is fully accountable for the accuracy, integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of payroll and performance-based compensation—the programs that drive technician and sales performance.
This is a builder’s role. It is designed for a high-performing Senior Payroll Manager, Payroll & Compensation Manager, or Payroll Operations Manager who is ready to take full ownership of a department and grow it on a private equity-backed platform. What matters is the depth, judgment, and ambition to own the function and scale it. The Senior Manager directly supervises the Payroll Specialist, serves as the company’s subject-matter expert on piece-rate pay and weekly residential services commission calculations, and is expected to build out and mature the function over time. Sales compensation and incentive plans are designed by leadership; this role is responsible for accurately calculating, administering, reconciling, and continuously improving the execution of those plans, and for advising leadership with the data and analysis behind them.

- In-home sales representatives’ commissions
- Call center representatives
- Sales managers
- Market leaders

- Calculate production bonuses and operational incentive programs
- Validate commission calculations and payout accuracy.
- Reconcile compensation calculations against approved compensation plans and operational data.
- Investigate and resolve compensation questions and disputes.
- Maintain documentation supporting all commission and incentive calculations.
Operations Compensation Administration
- Oversee piece-rate compensation programs.
- Validate payroll inputs received from field operations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable wage-and-hour regulations.
Leadership & Team Development
- Directly manage and develop the Payroll Specialist.
- Establish standard operating procedures and payroll controls.
- Assist in building and scaling the Payroll & Sales Compensation organization over time.
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, responsiveness, and continuous improvement.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Oversee payroll tax administration and payroll-related filings.
- Develop and maintain audit-ready payroll and compensation processes.
