Under supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will perform a variety of tasks related to processing payroll accurately and timely, performing all required accounting for awarded grants received by Amistad Health, and verify and recording deposits. The Staff Accountant reviews, researches, updates and maintains records of all payroll and grant related transactions, and works closely with grant administrators, supervisors, and other applicable grant related personnel to ensure compliance with donor-imposed restricted contributions and grant requirements, including assisting and completing all interim, on-going, and final financial grant reporting. The Staff Accountant also performs various tasks and journal entries related to deposits received by the health center.
EDUCATION: Minimum Associate’s degree in related area strongly preferred; Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
