We are seeking a Benefits Coordinator to join our in-clinic team. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, empathetic, professional, and comfortable guiding patients through the intake and treatment process.
Position OverviewThe Benefits Coordinator plays a key role in creating a positive patient experience from the moment a patient enters the clinic. This person helps facilitate patient intake, supports benefit and care coordination, educates patients, and assists with communication between patients, providers, and administrative team members.
This role requires strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust with patients. The ideal candidate is both caring and confident, with the ability to explain information clearly and help patients take the next step in their care.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients and support a smooth, professional in-clinic intake experience.
- Assist with patient paperwork, benefit information, scheduling, and care coordination.
- Help patients understand their treatment process, coverage details, financial responsibilities, and next steps.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients who may be in pain, anxious, or unfamiliar with the healthcare process.
- Coordinate with clinical staff, providers, billing, and administrative teams to ensure accurate and timely patient support.
- Follow up with patients regarding appointments, documentation, treatment plans, and benefit-related questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all required information is collected and documented.
- Provide education in a way that is easy for patients to understand.
- Build trust with patients through empathy, professionalism, and consistent follow-through.
- Support patient engagement and help patients feel confident moving forward with recommended care.
- Use ethical salesmanship and relationship-building skills to help patients understand the value of treatment options and complete the care process.
Qualifications- Prior experience in a healthcare, clinic, patient coordination, benefits, insurance, or customer service role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain information clearly and confidently.
- Comfortable discussing patient benefits, financial responsibility, and care options.
- High level of empathy, patience, and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment.
- Comfortable using electronic medical records, scheduling systems, or similar software.
- Sales, hospitality, healthcare administration, or patient-facing experience is a plus.

CompensationThis is an hourly position paying $20–$25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. In addition to hourly pay, Benefits Coordinators are eligible for performance-based bonuses tied to patient engagement, care coordination, and clinic success.
