Candidates must have prior recruiting experience specifically within a law firm or legal environment. Experience recruiting for a general corporate environment without law-firm recruiting experience will not meet the requirements for this position.
The ideal candidate understands the unique hiring requirements of a personal injury law firm and knows how to identify candidates with the appropriate legal experience, technical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruiting from job requisition through offer and onboarding
- Partner with leadership and department managers to understand hiring needs and develop effective recruiting strategies
- Recruit attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, intake specialists, and other legal professionals
- Source qualified candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, professional networks, referrals, and other recruiting channels
- Screen resumes and applications to verify required legal experience and qualifications
- Conduct initial interviews and assess candidates for experience, skills, communication, professionalism, and cultural fit
- Develop targeted recruiting strategies for difficult-to-fill legal positions
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified legal candidates
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and leadership
- Conduct reference and background checks as appropriate
- Manage offer negotiations and communicate offers to selected candidates
- Track candidates and recruiting activity within the firm's HR/recruiting systems
- Maintain accurate recruiting records and ensure timely follow-up with candidates
- Build relationships with legal professionals and maintain a strong candidate network
- Assist with improving job descriptions, job postings, interview processes, and recruiting procedures
- Monitor recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, source effectiveness, applicant volume, and hiring outcomes
- Represent the firm professionally throughout the recruiting process
- Stay informed regarding recruiting trends and the legal employment market
Required Qualifications
- Prior recruiting experience within a law firm or legal organization – REQUIRED
- Experience recruiting for legal positions such as attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, intake specialists, or similar roles
- Demonstrated experience managing the full recruiting lifecycle
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills
- Ability to distinguish between candidates who have genuine hands-on legal experience and those who primarily have general or administrative experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple open positions and competing priorities
- Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential candidate and employee information
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, HRIS platforms, LinkedIn, job boards, and recruiting tools
Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with personal injury litigation and law firm organizational structures
- Experience recruiting in California
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume law firm environment
- Experience developing sourcing strategies for hard-to-fill legal positions
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a recruiter who understands that recruiting for a law firm is different from recruiting for a general corporate employer.
The successful candidate will be able to evaluate legal candidates based on their actual hands-on experience, understand the differences between legal roles, and identify candidates who have the skills necessary to succeed in a plaintiff personal injury practice.
You should be comfortable working closely with attorneys, department leaders, and management and be able to independently manage multiple searches from initial sourcing through successful placement.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits
- Paid time off
- Paid holidays
- Professional development opportunities
- Growth opportunity within a growing law firm
Equal Opportunity Employer
We are an equal opportunity employer and consider qualified applicants without regard to legally protected characteristics.
