Overview:
The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting daily HR operations in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for various employment, onboarding, payroll, employee services, and administrative functions while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and exceptional customer service. The HR Coordinator assists applicants, employees, managers, and guests by providing timely support and maintaining compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Responsibilities:
Employment & Onboarding
- Input and maintain applicant information within the applicant tracking system.
- Coordinate new hire processing and ensure candidates complete all pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screenings.
- Notify department leaders when candidates are approved and ready for hire.
- Prepare onboarding materials and new hire packets.
- Conduct employee orientation and assist with employee onboarding activities.
- Operate employee identification badge equipment and process new, replacement, and updated employee badges.
Human Resources Administration
- Maintain personnel files and ensure employee records remain accurate and up to date.
- Process HR transactions and support various employee lifecycle activities.
- Maintain I-9 documentation and perform regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Manage filing, scanning, document retention, and secure shredding of confidential records.
- Generate reports and maintain departmental records as required.
- Assist with Employment Center and Employee Services functions.
Payroll & Employee Support
- Process payroll for hourly and salaried team members.
- Respond to employee questions regarding HR processes, payroll, benefits, and employment matters.
- Assist employees and the public in person and by telephone with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain positive working relationships with managers, department leaders, and team members throughout the organization.
Customer Service & Communication
- Professionally greet and assist visitors, applicants, and employees.
- Provide timely responses to assigned tasks, requests, and inquiries.
- Communicate effectively with leadership, managers, and employees across all levels of the organization.
- Support a service-focused culture through professionalism, responsiveness, and teamwork.
Compliance & Confidentiality
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee, applicant, and company information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain current knowledge of business operations and HR practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Previous Human Resources, Payroll, Administrative, or Employee Services experience preferred.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-service-focused environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
- Strong organizational, administrative, proofreading, and data-entry skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Comfortable presenting information and speaking before groups.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License through the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of both verbal and written information at all times.
