Boston Children's Hospital seeks an SPD Training Specialist to lead education and competency programs for Sterile Processing Department staff. In this role, you will design and deliver orientation, ongoing training, and skills assessments to ensure safe, accurate instrument reprocessing that meets AAMI, AORN, and hospital standards. You will partner with SPD leaders and perioperative teams to identify learning needs, update curricula, support new technologies, and promote best practices that reduce risk and enhance patient safety in a fast-paced pediatric environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver orientation and ongoing education for SPD staff
• Develop and maintain training materials, competencies, and checklists
• Conduct hands-on skills validation and annual competency assessments
• Monitor compliance with AAMI, AORN, and hospital sterilization standards
