About the role
The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance. Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.
What you'll do
- Process weekly payroll using Rippling HRIS
- Assist in the executions and coordination of New Hire Orientation and the overall onboarding process
- Administer benefit information to employees and answer benefit related questions and ensure all new hires are enrolled in benefits
- Create and maintain HR files and update system information in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- Update personnel records and ensure documentation is appropriate and up to date
- Develop reports to meet management requests and needs for human resource related information
- Address inquiries from Naterra employees regarding human resource policies and the employee handbook
- Handles employee relations
- Ensure proper training is being accomplished by employees, for their position as well as for managers in executing their duties in HR related matters, such as merit and performance management within the LMS system
- Coordinates employee recognition programs and referral bonus
- Actively participate in safety committees and assist with tracking of Worker Comp Claims and reporting
- Manages FMLA leave paperwork and employee insurance premium payments while out on FMLA
- Performs benefits administration, change reporting, invoices payment processing and communicating benefits information to employees.
- Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
- Assists in the revision of and implementation of policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, Communication or related fields
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources required
- Relevant HR certification or the education and experience qualification to obtain these certifications
- Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions and activities
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization and the ability to maintain information in a strict confidential manner
- Generalist or HR Coordinator background with broad knowledge of labor, employment, wage and salary administration and well-developed administrative skills
- HRMS systems or equivalent system experience preferred. Rippling experience a plus.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish.
