Senior Compensation Analyst Details
Essential Job Duties:
Compensation Administration and Analysis
- Administer and analyze compensation programs and practices to support internal equity, market competitiveness, fiscal responsibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct job evaluations using market data, internal equity, organizational structure, position responsibilities, and business need to develop compensation and classification recommendations.
- Perform advanced compensation analyses, including market benchmarking, salary offers, promotional increases, market adjustments, reclassifications, and organizational restructuring.
- Interpret compensation data and develop recommendations that balance market competitiveness, compensation philosophy, internal equity, and organizational resources.
- Coordinate salary survey participation and analyze external market data to support compensation planning and position evaluations.
- Support annual compensation planning, including salary structure analysis, market adjustments, compensation modeling, and communications.
- Lead or support compensation projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a compensation consultant and subject-matter resource to leaders and Human Resources regarding compensation practices, job evaluations, classifications, and pay-related matters.
- Partner with leaders to evaluate new or revised positions and assess classification and compensation impact.
- Analyze complex or sensitive compensation matters and provide data-informed recommendations consistent with organizational practices and internal equity.
- Communicate compensation recommendations and provide education regarding compensation philosophy, pay practices, job evaluation, and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate across departments on initiatives involving compensation, workforce planning, organizational structure, and job design.
HRIS and Compensation Systems
- Serve as a functional compensation resource for Lawson, Workday, and other applicable HRIS platforms.
- Partner with HRIS and Information Systems to maintain compensation data and structures, resolve system issues, and support system implementations and enhancements.
- Conduct routine audits and reporting to support compensation data integrity and organizational requirements.
- Support compensation-related system testing, reporting, analysis, and process improvements.
- Apply compensation policies and practices in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including FLSA, equal pay, and wage and hour requirements.
- Maintain compensation documentation, job evaluation records, market data, and procedures.
- Promote consistent compensation practices and identify potential equity, compliance, or data integrity concerns.
- Recommend improvements to compensation processes, controls, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of compensation principles, job evaluation, market pricing, salary administration, and internal equity analysis.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal and state compensation and wage and hour regulations.
- Ability to independently analyze complex compensation issues and develop sound, data informed recommendations.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex compensation information clearly.
- Strong consultation and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with leaders and human resources.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and HRIS reporting and analytical tools.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, responsiveness, and professional judgment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible compensation experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting job evaluations, compensation analyses, market benchmarking, and internal equity reviews.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with HRIS applications.
- Compensation experience within the healthcare industry preferred.
- Experience with Lawson, Workday, or another enterprise HRIS platform preferred.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation, CCP coursework, or demonstrated progress toward certification.
