Job Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the daily human resources functions onsite. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement activities, HRIS maintenance, payroll support, and human resources administration. The Coordinator plays a key role in creating a positive employee experience by ensuring employees have the resources, information, and support needed throughout their employment. This role is responsible for accurate recordkeeping, file maintenance, HRIS and timekeeping administration, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient HR operations.
*This position is open to local applicants of Hoonah, AK only. Relocation assistance and employee housing are not provided for this role.*
Duties/Responsibilities
Assists with recruitment and interview processes, including scheduling interviews, tracking candidate status in the HRIS, and communicating with applicants throughout the hiring process.Assists Directors and hiring managers with offer letters, travel arrangements, and bonus trackingAssists with onboarding logistics, including preparation of onboarding materials, housing agreements, travel communications, orientation activities, and new hire documentation.Manages the employee uniform program, including issuance, collection, inventory tracking, ordering, and end-of-season inventory management.Assists with planning, organizing, and facilitating employee engagement, recognition, and morale-building events throughout the season.Provides HR administrative support, including maintaining employee files, updating HRIS records, preparing reports, tracking required documentation, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping.Supports payroll administration by maintaining employee data, processing payroll-related documentation, auditing records for accuracy, and assisting with payroll inquiries.Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions and directing more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.Completes Forms I-9, verifies employment eligibility documentation, and maintains I-9 files.Submits background check requests and tracks completion of pre-employment requirements.Assists with employee terminations, including collection of company property, exit documentation, and record updates.Conducts routine audits of employee files, payroll records, and HR documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.Makes photocopies, mails, scans, and emails documents and performs other clerical functions.Electronically files documents into appropriate employee files.Assists with or prepares correspondence as requested.Prepares new employee files, onboarding packets, and orientation materials.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Preference for higher education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality.College-level coursework in English, Composition, Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, preferredTwo years of related experience in human resources, employee services, hospitality, administration, or a related field preferred.SHRM-CP credential preferred. The ability to obtain certification within 12 months is required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Able to walk on uneven gravel walkways for up to 5 miles per day.Ability to lift and move supplies, uniforms, onboarding materials, and office equipment up to 25 pounds.Ability to travel between office locations, housing facilities, transportation areas, and operational departments as needed.On-call availability, extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required during peak operating seasons.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and works closely with the Human Resources Representative and Employee Services Manager to support employee services and human resources operations.
